Centor Welcomes New Regional Manager Jim Legacy to Continue North American Growth in Eastern U.S. and Canada
Bright Future Continues for Award-Winning Designer and Manufacturer of Folding Hardware Systems for Windows/Doors and First Large Horizontal Retractable Screens and Blinds
Chicago, IL, Feb. 9, 2011 – Centor, the world’s premier manufacturer of folding door and window hardware systems, is pleased to welcome its latest team member. Jim Legacy joins Centor as Regional Manager for the Eastern U.S. and Eastern Canada.
Mr. Legacy comes to Centor after a successful career with one of the largest vinyl window and door system suppliers, and one of North America’s prominent fenestration hardware manufacturers. “My move to Centor is testament to the quality of Centor’s systems and the company’s attitude toward innovation. I am really looking forward to helping further expand the popularity of Centor folding door systems and its horizontal retractable screens and blinds – the first of their kind,” said Mr. Legacy.
This latest development in Centor’s growth comes on the back of opening a new branch in St. Petersburg, FL, and the recent relocation of its Chicago headquarters to larger premises to cater for future growth. Centor North America president Jim Thornton attributes this growth to the quality, flexibility, and popularity of its systems. “Despite the economic conditions, Centor systems are in high demand. Homeowners, architects and window and door manufacturers embrace our systems, and we provide important competitive advantages to our customers,” said Mr. Thornton.
Before Centor entered the North American market, folding doors were virtually unheard of. Centor has pioneered their popularity, demonstrating Centor folding door systems’ unique ability to provide openings up to 57’ wide by 13’ tall, with doors stacking to the sides and providing uninterrupted views. North America’s door and window manufacturers choose Centor systems because of their quality, fingertip operation and versatility. Centor folding door systems use Centor’s original patented system invented in 1998, which allowed folding doors to be used externally for the first time.
Centor also invented the world’s first horizontal retractable screen and blind system for large openings. The blind offers privacy, UV protection, thermal insulation and can double as a projection screen. The insect screen provides unobtrusive protection for openings up to 24’.
